Interesting.  I’ve heard of humans who have been able to do something similar to your ability through echolocation, though I haven’t found the technique to be terribly helpful to me.  Perhaps I just need more practice, but I still can’t do much more than use something like that to help me when there’s a very large obstacle, and I can usually detect that with my cane.  The comparative strength of your taste-smell dichotomy sounds quite intriguing, though; I’d be interested to study your brain using imaging technology, though I’d need to figure out a method for representing that haptically for myself.

…Hm, that’s a thought for the future.

Yes, that’s an apt comparison.  When I’m reading, all I can “see” is the line of text across which my fingers are going.

Not so, dear Terezi.  Think of the brain as the actual organ, and the neurons operating within it, while the mind is the abstraction of the brain’s functions - consciousness, perception, and cognition.
