You notice the rain starting to fade, so take a moment to fold it up. In doing that you had to remove your arm from her grip for a few seconds. 

With the lack of contact she seemed almost panicked. Which you found a bit odd. Terezi had not ever actually needed any assistance, but the human senses are far more duller than troll senses. Placing the umbrella in the crook of your arm you place said arm back under her palm and continue on.

The silence is nice, especially when the rain dissipates and you’re able to focus on the quiet sounds of the world around you.  When you can hear your paces against the slightly damp ground, it’s even better, and you can keep pace with the larger man’s quite long strides with a little more ease, especially when he slows a bit to accommodate you.

It comes as a little bit of a surprise when he lets go of you, and the loss of that security briefly startles you, but you hear the umbrella close and it becomes clear to you why he did it.  When he provides you his arm again, you smile and utter a quiet “thank you”.

I was visiting a friend in town with whom I was planning on spending the night.  Unfortunately, she had to attend to a family emergency, so I had no choice but to return home in the rain.  What about you?
