knock knock.

For a blind former seer, she still knows how to ask the right questions, or so you think. It’s not really that deep of a question, though. Hell, that’s one of the reasons you came. You still avoid the question.

you’re sure doing better than the last time. i didn’t realize just how tense you were until now. you look so comfy.

She really did. It wasn’t until now that you could see just how stressed she had been the last time you saw her.

is your mom in? i don’t want to bug her or anything.

Ever since you first heard the stories of Rose’s mom, she had scared you. This may not be the same universe you came from, but you were fairly sure her mom wouldn’t be any different.

i really didn’t know how good you were with the violin. that was beautiful. i mean it.

You ramble on, talking about this and that, but you never answer her question. What you never answer is her original question. You never tell her how you are.

You can hear the avoidance in his voice, and you quickly dispatch his own questions, preparing again to ask to get to the root of the matter.

I suppose it’s simply a relief to be very familiar with my surroundings so I don’t have to rely on conscious thought so much to tell me where things are.  I don’t actually need my cane when I’m at home, which is a welcome change from the usual.

Mother’s at work right now.  I’m sure she’ll come home in a few hours, but for now, it’s just me.

Hmm.  I appreciate it, John.  I’ve worked hard to try to improve my skill.

You shrug just a little bit, then your face hardens just a little.

Now, I don’t believe you told me how your last few weeks went.
