You’ve hit the nail on the nose, Terezi.  His own attempts at irony are quite often his own endeavor to hide his more embarrassing interests under that guise, hence the façade of “coolkid”, as you’ve so clearly noted.  It’s honestly rather endearing once one’s realized his true motivations.

Well, I’m sure it’s quite a new experience to come into contact with such prominent cultural touchstones of vigilantes.  However, I’m not so sure what to think of your own appraisal of Alternia’s law system, and I wonder if it might not be necessarily biased.  From my primitive understanding of it, there is little need for any legal personnel beyond the prosecution because the accused is always found guilty and always executed.  By contrast, Earth’s legal system allows for innocence, and even those convicted are frequently granted second chances because of our belief in their ability to atone and to become better citizens.  Perhaps that’s sometimes misguided, but no legal system is perfect.

I’m not surprised.  Those that are different are always treated differently by society; I frequently run into those that treat me as if I’m a patient on her deathbed because of the fact that I can’t see, which is highly bizarre.  Do I seem unhealthy or incapable to you?

I’m certainly hoping that with enough student support I’ll be able to bring the technology to some sort of manufactured state, enough, at least, so I can enjoy it.
