Your body is shaking lightly as you see Rose descend down the first slope. You exhale a deep breath and follow her lead. You want to squeeze your eyes shut, but you don’t, because unlike Rose, you don’t have a guide telling you where to go. You watch Rose as you move, your heart beat racing at one thousand miles per hour.

You pick up a little speed as the guide nudges her own speed up, and it’s exhilarating, if a little terrifying.  You can hear Jade behind you, trying to get her bearings, and wonder if she could use a little help.  After all, you’d skied before a great deal in your childhood, and though it was more challenging without sight, the instructions from the guide were quite knowledgeable, so you could easily follow along.
