yeah, you going blind hurt her, but that’s because she saw all these doors close on you. you’ve been working so hard to deal with that and i know she’s really proud of how far you’ve come. that’s what parents do.

Maybe.  But in order for that to be the case, I’d have to come to terms that the most mundane tasks of others constitute successes of my own, which sounds so…pallid in comparison.
