And hopefully the converse is true for them.  I would hate to have a legitimate claimant to friendship be disregarded in favor of some transuniversal alternate.  That would be painful for all those involved, I can only imagine.

Did I hesitate when I spoke?  I’ve been blind for long enough that some of my closest friends are people whom I’ve never seen in my life, for whom I can only construct a mental image to envision them.  Yourself included, actually.
