You seem intimately acquainted with my own goals.  Do you have some sort of similar life circumstances that allow you understand me so well?

You frame it this way so you can sate your own curiosity, hopefully with a subtle enough question that he doesn’t even realize that you’re prying.  That’s a Lalondian specialty, and you certainly have no intentions not to continue utilizing that trait to your advantage.

Just because one’s used to it doesn’t mean that one has to sit there and continue to take it.  In fact, it’s healthy to realize when it has to stop, at some point.
